- housing - from $25 per month for a basic room to $400 per month for luxury 2 bedroom resort apartment with daily cooking and cleaning service
- food and meals - from $1 per day from street vendors to $10 per meal in luxury restaurant
- alcohol and cigarettes - from $1 per beer and $8 per bottle of imported tequila in liquor store to $2 per beer and $7 per bottle of wine from a restaurant/bar
- Marlboro cigarettes 80 cents per packet
- transport from a few cents in the city
- language lesson - most populations speak good English, but you can learn local Tagalog in exchange for English lesson or simply socialising locally or get a private tutor for $100 per month (average monthly salary)
- office lease - $100 per month in well maintained buildings and virtual office in luxury office building in Manila for $50 per month
- full-time personal secretary or assistant - from $100 to $200 per month
- company set-up with a local lawyer - between $500 and $1000
- school for children - up to $10,000 for international or a small joining fee for local school
- English school - $200 per month
- clothing - very low prices on markets or local shops
